After three years of hard work and planning, Montessori Weaver School opened on August 4, 2009, with three teachers and a limited enrollment. The goal was to provide a welcoming atmosphere where young children in the Murfreesboro, Tennessee, area could develop into confident, independent, and joyful learners.
The Montessori Weaver School quickly outgrew its first location and plans were made to move “up the hill” to a new 4920 sq. ft. facility at the beginning of the 2012-13 school year. The faculty and staff have expanded and the location has changed, but that initial desire to provide a carefully prepared environment that encourages a quality education has never wavered. The interior of the school is orderly and well-stocked with inviting Montessori materials that encourage students to explore, manipulate, problem solve, and investigate. The spacious outside area allows for organic gardens, compost bins, running, and class walks in the neighborhood. Both spaces provide opportunities for the students to fulfill their deep love and need for purposeful work, refine their motor skills, learn to socialize harmoniously, and develop a solid foundation of the academics.
